About IMU-KC Library:

The Indian Maritime University Library System comprises of five campuses i.e. Kolkata, Mumbai, Vishakhapatnam, Kochi and Chennai and library of Indian Maritime University Kolkata Campus is oneof them which contain a huge collection over maritime and navigational literature. IMU-KC Library has been functioning since 1953 with antique collection over maritime literature. It has voluminous collection of 19th century's publications and covers all the corner of the ship building and sea sailing. Library is having collection of almost 25 thousand documents of books, shipping plans, standards, technical literatures, IMO Publication, Encyclopaedia, Back Volumes and other reference materials with CD/DVDs in the field of marine science, nautical science, and shipping industry.

Mission:

The Library of IMU-KC is one of the important core facilities of the university catering to the information needs of faculty, scholars and cadets. The library seeks to identify, select, acquire, organise and disseminate information in the best possible ways among the users of the library and to build a wide-ranging fair library collection and provide a best environment for study and research with excellent IT infrastructure.
